4 ACCESSORIES I USE WITH MY APPLE TV 4K
Sharing the accessories I am using to make full use of the Apple TV 4K. Read on to find out why I choose those accessories and maybe try them yourself too.
INTRODUCTION
A few weeks ago, I purchased the Apple TV 4K (2021 version) and it is the first TV box to blow my mind away. I seriously can’t emphasise how satisfied I am with this purchase because it’s worth every dollar. Foremost, I have to give credit to Apple for making such a premium feel product. When I first held the TV Box in my hand, I could already feel the quality of the product and knowing that it will last for a very long time. Setting up the device is elementary, but knowing what apps and accessories to use to make this device worth it is a very tricky situation, especially when it comes to the financial component.
In the past few weeks, I’ve been researching on different accessories to find the ones that suit my needs. In this article, I will be sharing stuff I am currently using that makes the Apple TV worth owning… so let’s begin!
NEW RE-DESIGN SIRI REMOTE
Unboxing the New Siri remote and holding it in my hands for the first time is such a mesmerising experience. The built quality of the remote is on a next level. I’ve never seen an aluminium remote in my entire life. The buttons are clicky, which sounds annoying at times, but it’s bearable. If it’s too annoying for you, well, then use the built-in remote on your iPhone. The one feature that I can’t get over is the touchpad. What is more amazing is the way it integrates so beautifully with the tvOS. I can’t explain how incredible the experience is, but if you’re thinking of buying the Apple TV, make sure to purchase the Siri Remote as well.
HOMEPOD MINI
We can all agree that the built-in speakers of the Smart TVs sounds really disgusting. I’ve got 2 HomePod Minis paired together to form a Stereo Pair and damn these speakers sound unbelievable for their size. I placed the HomePods next to the sofa, so there’s no need for loud volumes. Really, appreciate Apple giving us the option to turn on the setting to “Reduce Loud Sounds”. This feature definitely is helpful when watching action movies where there are many explosions that can be very loud. In the Apple TV settings, I selected the HomePod as the Default TV speakers. This is to avoid entering the Control Centre every time I want to watch the TV just to select the AirPlay destination to my HomePods.
AIRPODS PRO
In the nights, when I wish to catch up on latest episodes of Apple TV+ Shows, I try to avoid playing the audio through the HomePod. Unfortunately, the HomePod Mini doesn’t support Dolby Atmos audio, so the AirPods Pro is to the advantage. One thing with the Apple Ecosystem is that everything is harmonising with one another. I said this because when you’re using the AirPods, you can easily adjust the volume using the remote, which I find spectacular. Spatial Audio with the AirPods Pro is just on another level. The thought of having the audio move from one ear to the next due to the movement of my head is just so cool. Sometimes, during a film/episode I might want something from the kitchen and when my back is towards the TV, the audio from the AirPods Pro plays like it’s behind of me. Just like it would if it were playing through the HomePod.
PLAYSTATION 5 DUAL SENSE CONTROLLER
I am not really a hardcore gamer, but I purchased the Apple One subscription, and it includes Apple Arcade, which is a collection of games from Apple. I’ve been playing a few games on my iPhone, but the experience would be much better on a bigger screen, so decided on purchasing the PlayStation 5 Dual Sense controller. It works perfectly well with the Apple TV, haven’t found any issues whatsoever. Mostly, I play racing and simulation games, nothing like Call of Duty or anything of that sort. I recommend getting two controllers, just in case a friend comes over and want to play a video game with you.
CONCLUSION
The Apple TV is far better than any other TV Box on the market. The tvOS is simply outstanding, especially when you’re in the Apple Ecosystem. I know most of you can’t afford to purchase all the Apple Products, but if you’re sure about being in the Ecosystem, then I highly recommend going for the Apple TV. These are all the accessories I am using with the TV Box at this set moment. Unfortunately, my Smart TV isn’t that of a newer model, so I can’t get to experience the maximum display settings from the Apple TV. Hopefully, later on, when my wallet agrees with me, might as well upgrade my Smart TV.
